The things people ask first.
What kind of photo works? +
Almost any. A phone shot is fine, and so is one that is a little blurry, badly lit, or taken by somebody else. Faces, a dog, a building, a crowded table, a view you keep going back to. What matters is that the moment means something to you, not that the photograph is good.
I do not have the right photo. Now what? +
Then describe it instead. Tell the studio in your own words what should exist and it paints that. Most people start from a photo, but words work just as well when the picture was never taken.
How does my photo become an artwork? +
You choose one of twelve treatments, from impressionist to charcoal, and a palette. The studio redraws the moment in that style, which takes under a minute. Before printing, a person prepares the piece: colour read against the paper, contrast held back where a screen would push it.
Can I see it before it is printed? +
Yes, and you always do. You get ten free designs, and twenty-five once you log in with your email, so you can try treatments and palettes until one is right. You order the one you pick, and only that one reaches the press.
What if I do not like what comes back? +
Then you do not order it and it has cost you nothing. Change the treatment, change the palette, or start again from a different photo.
Is my piece really one of a kind? +
Yes. It is drawn from your photo, for you, and it is made once.
What happens to the photo I upload? +
It is used to make your piece and nothing else. Your photo is not sold and not used to train third-party models. The full wording is on our AI & craft policy page.
Which sizes and materials can I choose? +
Museum paper from 20×25 up to 70×100 cm, with square sizes in between, from €30. A poster with a wooden hanger from €94. Canvas from 30×30 up to 70×100 cm, from €72. A solid wood frame in oak, black or dark walnut can be added to paper in 30×40, 40×50 and 50×70, from €29 depending on the size. Shipping is included in every price. Sizes & framing walks through the choice.
How long before it is on my wall? +
Allow one to three working days in the atelier, then two to four days to the Netherlands and Belgium, three to five to Germany and France, five to eight elsewhere in Europe. Shipping is included in the price, whatever you order.
How does it arrive? +
Paper travels rolled in a rigid tube or flat in a mailer. Canvas and framed pieces are boxed with corner protection.
Can I return it? +
A piece made to order from your own design falls outside the fourteen-day right of withdrawal. That is exactly why you approve the artwork before anything is printed. If the print does not match what you approved, or arrives damaged, send a photo within 48 hours and we remake and reship it free. See shipping & returns.
Can I give one as a gift? +
Yes. A gift card arrives by email the same day, counts towards any size and material, and stays valid for two years. Handy when you would rather they picked the photo themselves. See gift cards.
